We know what’s narcissism — a personality trait that’s marked with an inflated sense of admiration, self-importance & lack of empathy for others.

While most people consider this trait as a taboo, there are places, settings & professions where narcissism is celebrated. These settings not only celebrate narcissism but also foster it.

Today, we’ll discuss the social as well as the psychological factors why certain settings foster narcissism?

Curious? Let’s begin!

Before we move further let me give you a short prep to get a fuller & better understanding of the settings.

So, There are Two Types of Narcissism; Adaptive & Maladaptive

1. Adaptive Narcissism — This form is regarded as a healthy form of narcissism. This one is good for your personality as it shows confidence, assertiveness, and boldness. This can come handy for people in competitive settings & leadership roles.

2. Maladaptive Narcissism — This form is addressed as pathological. Marked by entitlement, arrogance & lack of empathy (exploitation) this one comes as toxic & unethical.
