Often, the children are regarded as a symbol of innocence; which they are. Yet the circumstances, mostly bad parenting and traumatic childhood can shape cruelty out of innocence. Such a case was witnessed in 1968, with a 1957 born child of a prostitute in Scotswood, England.

Born with innocent temperament yet shaped to be pure evil by her own mother, this is the story of Mary Flora Bell who was later known as The Tyneside Strangler.

Mary Bell’s first victim Martin Brown was a four-year-old child from her neighborhood. She had committed this murder a day before her 11th birthday. Martin’s body was found by three kids in the bedroom on the top floor of a derelict building. The boys went on to inform a local worker in the vicinity, who quickly arrived and tried reviving Martin. However, it was too late.

As the local worker was trying to revive Martin, Mary and her best friend Norma appeared at the location but were chased away immediately by the worker. Norma Bell, having the same last name as Mary Bell, was often mistaken to be her sibling although being completely unrelated to each other.
