It is very possible that a child possesses all the traits that a typical narcissist would have. As a matter of fact, most children & adolescents do exhibit all the major narcissistic traits.

Lack of empathy, entitlement, grandiosity, attention-seeking behavior, and disobedience; all these traits are found in most children, especially adolescents.

Are they Narcissists or Grow Up to Be Narcissists?

I’m going to answer this with a fact about personality development. Personality is not fully developed until the early ’20s or late 20s. In some cases, the process of personality development goes on until the age of 40.

You might be fed up with your child’s behavior — towards you or people in general. They don’t help you with chores, all they care about is having their needs met.

You are working the whole day long, at the office and back home, you just tidied your house immaculate your child just walks in and litters around. And when you yell they show no remorse.

Especially adolescents tend to be more arrogant, ignorant, & cold with their reactions. And as they look like adults it might seem like all that behavior is coming from an adult. It’s not.
